At Ile De Chocolat PTY Ltd, we take great pride in the handcrafted nature of our products. Because our chocolates are delicate and sensitive to environmental conditions, we have established the following guidelines to ensure clarity regarding the transport of your purchase from our studio in Knysna to your door.
1. Shipping Location and Origin
All orders are processed and dispatched from our facility located at: Pezula Nature Retreat, Lagoon View Drive, Knysna, 6571.
2. Shipping Methods and Service Providers

Preferred Courier: We primarily use The Courier Guy for domestic deliveries within South Africa.

Alternative Couriers: Customers are welcome to arrange their own preferred courier services. If you wish to use your own courier, please select the "Collection" option at checkout and coordinate the pickup with our team via info@iledechocolat.com.
3. Shipping Rates and Tiers
We offer different structures for our retail and wholesale partners:

Retail Customers: * Orders over R1,500.00 qualify for FREE standard shipping.

Orders below R1,500.00 will be charged a flat standard shipping rate (calculated at checkout).

Wholesale Customers: * Standard shipping rates apply to all wholesale orders regardless of value, unless otherwise negotiated in your specific wholesale agreement.

Expedited Shipping: All standard shipping is sent via Economy/Road Freight. If you require Overnight or Express delivery, this can be arranged at an additional surcharge. Please contact us before placing your order for a custom quote.
4. Risk and Responsibility (Limitation of Liability)
While we pack our products with the utmost care using protective materials:

Transfer of Risk: The risk of loss, delay, or damage passes to the customer (or the customer’s chosen carrier) the moment the package leaves our premises in Knysna.

Third-Party Neglect: Ile De Chocolat PTY Ltd does not accept responsibility for goods that are lost, delayed, or damaged due to the neglect or handling of the courier service.

Insurance: We recommend that customers or wholesale partners arrange their own transit insurance for high-value orders.
5. Delivery Timelines

Processing Time: Most orders are dispatched within 1–3 business days.

Transit Time: As we ship from Knysna, transit times to major centers (Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban) typically take 2–4 business days via Economy service.

Weather Considerations: To preserve the quality of our chocolate, we reserve the right to delay shipping during extreme heatwaves. We will notify you if your shipment is being held for temperature reasons.
6. Tracking Your Order
Once your order has been collected by the courier, you will receive an email notification containing your tracking number and a link to the courier’s tracking portal.
